A Note of Thanks...

Over the past few weeks, many of you have been tracking our move from Duncannon, Pennsylvania, USA to the Kingdom of Swaziland, Southern Africa. This has been a magnificent time of transition, emotional swings, and physical fatigue as we sold nearly everything we have and reduced our possessions to 16 bags of luggage for the 16 1/2 hour flight. Probably the most difficult thing I have ever had to do in my life was to say goodbye to my son who remains in the USA.

We are in the Kingdom for the next 3 years as special assignment missionaries with the Assemblies of God and have brought our 2 daughters with us, ages 18 and 7. We will be working with HIV/AIDS children and orphans with compassion ministries. I am also an instructor at the Swaziland College of Theology.

Through this process, I have learned that 365 Project is somewhat of an extended family. So many of you have written such compassionate and kind comments recently and even offered your prayer support for my family. For this I am truly grateful and just wanted to say thank you from my heart to yours. If you wish to keep up with what we are doing here, add me as a friend on Facebook (mtg176). Also our family webpage is www.thegoodlings.net

Thank you again for your outreach of kindness. You have blessed us with your thoughtfulness. :)

Michael, a fairly close neighbor while you were in Duncannon, the Lord's richest blessings on you and your family while there serving Him. I'm sure you will be busy there, but blessed as well.

I truly admire the work you & your family are doing. It is very courageous of you to give up so much that you are used to, but knowing that you are making a difference will be a wonderful reward. You and your family are in my thoughts & prayers! Just remember, you are making the world a better place!!

As one who spent time in the "field" I do know the value of prayer, and brother Michael, you and your family will be in mine. May God bless you and keep you all in the palm of His holy hand.

Ah Michael- I can't imagine how hard it was for you to say goodbye to your son! But it is so awesome that just as God sacrificed His son because He loved you, you are now sacrificing time with yours because you love him! God bless you and your family as you take this tremendous leap of faith into your new journey. I will be praying for you and your family!

I just came across this note accidentally but I'm glad I did! I am a missionary also and come from an AoG church in CA. I've been in Thailand almost 5 years now and although sometimes it is hard, God continues to bless me. I will pray for you and your family as you serve God and start a new adventure together. God bless! I look forward to seeing your photos!!

Thank you for your insightful update. I for one will be looking forward to your and your daughters photo's. My wife and I belong to a Nazarene Church and will mention you and your endeavors for prayer. Too many people seem to think that true prayer is just some kind of a mystic thing, but we know differently about that. If more people could just wrap their heads around the fact the the Bible is for real, and God is our final judge, and we don't know when that will be, and live accordingly to that, this world would be a much better place. In no way do I put this here for an argument, or to be offensive. But it is a fact that the truth about many things tends to be offensive to those that do not believe.
May God richly bless you and keep you safe.
