Help! Looking for a new P&S.............

During a recent trip to the hot springs in Costa Rica, my trusty point and shoot kicked the bucket. While I do use my Nikon extensively, I still like to carry a P&S in my purse wherever I go (you never know when a great photo opportunity will come up!). I'm looking to purchase a good one but without breaking the bank......any suggestions?

Canon S90 - about $350 in America I believe? It shoots RAW and has manual functionality. I have one and it's with me all the time. In fact, my picture from yesterday was from using my compact camera!

Personally I LOVED my Sony Cybershot (the pink one I used to have) and I took some of my best pics with it! (my lady bug ones and my caterpillar one for example)but it was kind of annoying that it only took Sony memory cards, although they may have fixed that with the newer models, cuz mine would be at least 3 versions older than the one that is out now.

I use my Canon Powershot A series camera for every photo in this project. I've had it for about 3 years now, and it's still going strong.
