Amazing Color Photos of Russia from the Early 1900s

I came across this site: http://blogs.denverpost.com/captured/2009/10/21/color-photography-from-russian-in-the-early-1900s/comment-page-4/

Many of the photos look like they could have been taken today, quality-wise. A great look at a time long gone.

You are so right about the quality of these photos. I am accustomed to seeing vintage photos in B&W so this is a real novelty. The subject matter, color and composition are so powerful and beautiful, I hope everyone has a chance to look at them.

Wow! Marti, those images are awesome! The colors and quality are so bright and clear for turn-of-the-century photography. I love the one of the three girls offering berries and the trans-Siberian railway truss. Thank-you so much for sharing those with everyone!

Those were great. I especially liked the portrait of Isfandiyar and the self portrait of the photographer by the river.

Incredible! And it's amazing to think that so much painstaking care would have gone into taking and developing these beautiful photos - such a contrast from today with the advent of digital technology... it boggles the mind!
