The posts about favourite photos for July have been really popular. I thought it might be a good idea to have a weekly post about your favourite photo that you took over the previous week. I think this will help showcase some of the excellent photos that don't always make the popular page for whatever reason, and I often find that I have more than one favourite when it comes to choosing only one image from a whole month.
If this proves popular I will do this at the beginning of every week. So, why don't you post your favourite photo (just one!) that you took so far this month up until 8 August.
To kick this off, here is a photo that I'm quite proud of that I took on Saturday 7 August:
This one is my favorite from August so far. Not only because it's my granddad, but also because it's my first portrait here and I really like the expression on his face and the soft light.
I guess it would have to be this one. I love how it turned out and today they will actually be camping chrysalis'! Fabulous photos already and I hope to return and see more pictures when I return from camping.
Boy, a week will seem like a long time to be away from the Internet! I'm sure to have withdrawals but the peace and quiet will be nice.
Hmm not so many choices for August, but I have to go with this one. I simply love the different textures and how the peeling blue paint really pops against the grey stone.
hhhmmm.... hard pick between this one and my grapevine pic - but I will go with this one because I love that my son helped me get to subject matter for the photo :)
Tough choice.... I've had three make the front page this month so far, but I am torn between two. I'm choosing this one, though, because it has a message along with it too.
Vikdaddy, this is a great idea for a topic! I would have to say my favorite for the first week would be the first shot I posted for the theme. It was one of those shots where I knew I was going to use it as soon as I snapped it
Some great photos here! I missed some of these, even from people I'm following. Thanks for the comments about the post idea, I'll keep posting it at the start of every week!
Well, l am still hoping Ross might take me up on my idea of a public vote but if not then this looks set to take over from that. So, my contribution will be my horses. I love them.
I love what I'm seeing here! Since I've had to miss looking at so many photos this past week, this is a great showcase to see everyone's entries for the week! Thanks for the brilliant idea Vik!
Okay...I don't seem to be able to post my picture on this page. How is it to be done? I'm not really a computer person (news flash!) so I would appreciate someone helping me out. Thanks!
Not a hard choice for me since I actually only like two from this month so far. The other one I like is the sun, but I'm always taking pictures of the sun and this was something really different for me and I really like the result.
Wow! There are so many of the above photos that I could fave.
I had a hard time picking a favorite from this first week of August...an not because I have great photos. This is my favorite so far, but the one on the third was a close second.
There are so many amazing photos here! I think so far, my favorite is this one from last week's theme, although I really could have gone with any of my urban decay shots.
This is fun! Great to see all these faves!
Here's my fave from August... I took a ton of shots to try to get rid of the glare, get the angle and focus right etc. This was the last shot I took and I'm happy with how it came out. Plus, it's really meaningful to me.
I find this photo really poetic, and one of the rare ones I've taken that I would actually have on my wall, I like its simplicity, grey tones and almost abstract feel but it tells a story
Well, I don't have too many in my project yet, I only started a few days ago. But this one is my favorite so far of the project and maybe my whole portfolio to date.
I would love to participate but haven't gotten any closer of learning how to get a picture from my site to this one. I know it has something to do with copying and that part I understand but when it comes to pasting I'm lost as the paste is not lit up. I guess I'm just too old or to stupid to learn... but I love to look at what others have picked for their best or worst picture.
Friend's band on Saturday - I was going for a 'The Beatles - Let It Be' album cover vibe.
so far, this is my first flower shot that appeared as i intended it to, and this is my fave so far...
so far this one..... =) inspired by the movie : INCEPTION . =)

This, from yesterday, would have to be my fav so far -
awesome idea Vik. I love this because I can just scroll down a bunch of awesome pictures all at once :)
not sure if its my best, but i like it:)
This one for me so far:
Fantastic shots everyone!!!
Nice idea Vik

But I really enjoy this one...
Try and keep it to one photo for the week though please, as I want to keep these threads as neat as possible...

With the caption, it so perfectly describes where I am emotionally right now.
So, here it is:
I love the way this guy is looking right at me.
This is my favorite so far this month. I love the clarity and the lighting.
because it shows how much fun they have together ...
Hope this works.
