Now that i've got using my new camera down i'd like to purchase a macros lense.
As you know, they are very expensive for a high school student, are there any sites that have good deals (USA) on lenses or any camera equiptment ie. tripods, filters, cases, etc.?
Before using an online discount store check them out on http://www.resellerratings.com/. There are a lot of fraudulent sites that pop up. I've had good luck with ebay. But you've gotta check out their rating, and also check out the type of stuff their currently selling against the stuff they've sold in the past. Someone that used to sell cheap crafty stuff who now has a ton of bargain priced high end electronics has likely had their account hacked.
For a cheap macro, the Sigma 50mm f/2.8 EX DG isn't bad. You can find them under $300 new, around $200 used on ebay. For samples from the lens, check out this group -- http://www.flickr.com/groups/sigma50mm/pool/
