Some people have found me and started following me. I don't know how they did because I'm not that good at taking really great pictures! If I'm not logged in though, I can see some really good pictures that people have taken on the home page. Is that how they saw my pictures?
Maddy, at the top of the page you will see a link labeled Browse. When you click that link you will see a variety of ways to see what has been posted. If you go to Latest, or By Day you can see what everyone else has posted recently. If a person browses through these photos they might follow a link to your site. I often look to see what is there and also check out the theme photos for the week. That way I find people that I wouldn't see otherwise.
Have you been commenting on other people's stuff? It happens that people who regularly read comments on certain of their followees might notice you as a new face and check you out.
Posting this discussion will have led to people checking your stuff out too.
Quite a few people do the whole "If I follow people, they're likely to follow me back" method of getting followers of their own, too.
@maddypie06 no, those links are not just for people who are more well known on here... newer people with fewer photos/ "Less popularity" tend to filter to the back...but that isn't ALWAYS the case. The Popular page, for instance, is not for just popular photos...it is more random...at least a lot of the 365ers have figured that out and even started discussions on it haha
buuut like Steve said...the best way to get noticed is to comment.
plus, the great thing about this site... people follow you no matter what kind of photos you add. There are a lot of nice people on here... its so great :)
even if you yourself think your photos are bad.... (which they aren't)...you will find that as time goes by...you get better and better whether you want to or not...
that's what happened to me anyways...
I have always been interested in photography...not NOW it is my passion..
this site helped me figure that out big time...

I sometimes look at photos from people based on the forums.
That said, I'm always surprised when someone follows me.
