Adding a picture to discussion threads

I can never remember how to add a picture to a discussion thread and find the formatting confusing. I have so far added a link to the first option in formatting but that only returns me to the original thread with a link to thread ( no picture) I tried adding the url to the second option but nothing happens. Is there a place I can go so that info on how to add a pic is kept in the same place so that we can refer back to it as needed? Thanks in advance.

Thank you for this...I tried it as suggested and went to the sizes options but for some reason I can only scroll down to the square image, I cannot go any further. Help!!

some times and I don't know why it happens with windows explorer... but never when I log with safari... hope it helps Cindy!

Thanks Helene, I was using firefox and have now switched to google chrome and it worked!

There is an even easier way. Just under where it says "sizes" there is a box that says "share." If you copy and paste the code under there into a discussion, it'll show and be clickable to your page.
