Making pic file smaller on a Mac?

October 6th, 2010
I'm using iPhoto on a Mac and want to make the files small before uploading (to save bandwidth). I have been creating a Mail message for the photos, selecting the small size, dragging from the email into a folder, deleting the Mail, and then posting the files here ... but surely there must be an easier way!

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

I've never resized in iPhoto; I use gimp; http://gimp.lisanet.de/Website/News/News.html, which is an alternative to PS.

Hmm no idea. I use lightroom and always make sure I export a full size image and also a smaller one for upload. I figure that I want the fullsize ones so that I can print a book of my 365 for 2010

You can export and pick file export and choose the small size and export to your desktop. Use the at picture on the desktop to upload to this site. Then just delete from desktop.

I use iPhoto a bit - use the export function and you can set the file size.

Just so you know, for display on here you want to resize down to 550px along the longest edge.
