How many photos do you take each day before picking one for the day for 365?
LOL! I find myself taking photos of the oddest things and I'll take quite a few shots on different settings then download onto my laptop and choose one and delete the yucky ones.
At the end of the day I often find it hard to pick just one to use. When in this dilemma, I pick the one that symbolises my day the most.
Depends what I'm doing. On a normal boring day I struggle to find anything - I work from home so normally get to 11pm, panic because I haven't taken any photos and end up playing around with macro shots or something. Some days we go out on photo treks and take hundreds and I have a tough job choosing. Other daysI'll take the odd snapshot on my compact or phone of stuff I've been doing. That's why the quality of my entries varies so much!
It generally depends on a) how much time I have left myself for photography that day, b) how inspired (or otherwise) I feel and c) where I am (e.g. on holiday or at home).
On an average day (at home) I'll take a dozen or so shots of different subjects on different settings then pick my favourite after uploading to the computer. I know what you mean when sometimes it can be hard to pick one!
I also keep all my shots, sucky or otherwise, unless they're *really* beyond help.
I take about 40-60 a day. But most of those are because I mess with EVERYTHING on my camera for one shot. So I'll have a picture and have exposures ranging from 1/4000 of a second to one second just to see what kinds of effects I get.
I go for a walk every lunchtime and take photos of anything that looks vaguely interesting - then I discover something about the day and I disregard them all and do something else!
For example today I had a great photo of the cabs queuing up outside the train station, but then later in the day I realised that 51 years ago today Buddy Holly died ... So I spent 15 minutes taking photos of a pair of 3d glasses!
I think for every photo that makes it into 365 I've usually taken at least 4 others. Multiply that by 365 and that's a hell of a lot of pictures! Finally got a digital photo frame now so my better but not quite 365-worthy ones get some airtime XD
I'm on day 230 and since I have started my project I have SAVED just under 3,000 pictures.... this is not even coming close to how many I have deleted before it ever made it to my computer.... I think it is good practice though, on some level I feel that I have improved since day 1 of 365.
