I dont know yet either... we havn't opened presents yet. my mom is sleeping in ahaha (I guess that's the beauty of having older kids that know santa's not real) ohh what am I saying... Santa IS real ;) heck our presents still even say "from santa" :) makes me happy.
I do know my dad said I would really like my presents!! so..... I'll let you know :D
I'm getting a photo class from my boyfriend's sister and mom (as well as a $50 Borders gift card from the same sister, which will go towards photo books).
I also got a tripod and external hard drive from my boyfriend (and Tiffany earrings :D).
I have some black tape coming so I can tape up my Lubitel and not get horrendous light leaks :D And I thought about doing a film order as a gift to myself...
My mom got me a new lens cap, with a strap since I've lost 2 already. :) She also got me a lens cloth, as well as a $200 gift card to Houston Camera Exchange. 2/3 of the cost of the macro lens I want. I"M ALMOST THERE!!! I nearly cried. I did hug her tremendously. :) Such a huge present, I never expected anything like that. I hope the gifts I gave them made them as happy as theirs did me.
@angieberg Same as Angie. I finally have a little P&S, versus lugging around the Pro Nikon everywhere. This will help fill some gaps. But the darn thing is so simple, I can't figure it out, and I keep looking for the viewfinder, only to remember that I have to look at the video screen instead. Old habits!
I got an e-reader from pandigital and two tripods: a little six inch one for a table top, then a tall standing one that's 5.5 feet. I'm super excited about it because you have no idea how many times I've needed a tripod.
super happy!
I hope everyone got what they wanted! ^_^
my boyfriend gave me a TRIPOD yays, and after he said last week i'd have to "make do" without one for now, budgeting etc, LOL, sneeky lil bugger got me one anyways :) have already used it, didn't take long at all hehe
I asked Santa for a Nikon D5000 but that was a little kid's big wish. The grown up wish was for my husband to hear "When can you start?". I know Santa is busy so I will understand if these wishes take a little while to fulfill.
My darling wife Koshi got me two Canon lens mugs (24-105 and 70-200) and also CS5 and LR3 so now all my computers are running the same versions. Very happy Christmas! :)
I got 2 lens adapters ( a wide angle and 2x telephoto), 3 sets of filters, and a off camera flash softbox from my bestie. My hubby bought me a 50mm f1.8 (which hasn't arrived yet)- lots of new toys to get me out of my photo rut!
My husband bought me the 55-200mm lens for my Nikon--before that, I had only the
18-55mm that came with the camera, so I'm enjoying it! Our son got both my husband and I digital photo frames that will hold tons of my photos, so that's awesome too. Like Isla, I got The Digital Photography Book 1, so am learning lots from that. Later when I can, I want to get that Manfrotto tripod and head that Karen got--awesome! Merry Christmas everyone....fun to hear of your wonderful gifts!
I got my girl up for three days ... and she gave me Bryan Peterson's close up/macro book ... haven't looked at it yet, she is reading it ... love, love, love and tonight she's light painting and spinning fire ... woo hoo!!!!!
@camarobabe You will love the 55-200!! I didn't realize it, but the 18-55 really only sees what the naked eye can see. I am still too chicken to take my DSLR out on an "iffy" day....use my less expensive cameras....but I am definitely going to get out there more and use all of them this year. :)
I got a Canon Rebel T2i! Been reading the instruction manual and playing with it since I took it out the box. Now I just have to go shopping for a new camera bag.
My husband got me an AF-S DX NIKKOR 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED, and I have been reading up on techniques all today so I can start experimenting tomorrow. I also got two baLens white balance lens caps (52 mm, 72mm, now will need a 77mm!), and my daughter got me my sentimental favorite present which was a shutterfly book she put together of some of my 2010 photos she likes! A very nice photo focused Christmas!
@clarissajohal Your reply made me laugh, my 5 year old is totally into the Nightmare before Christmas. We got him a Jack Skeleton blanket, huge round pillow of just his head and a Nightmare Before Christmas deck of Uno cards in a "collectors tin". Its one of my favorite movies too!
I got the best present when I gave my sister-in-law a photo calendar... her mom started to cry... 'because the pictures are so beautiful'... so I decided I better get her one too but it will be more than the horse and sister-in-law...
I got a new MacBook Pro from my husband, and for my birthday (which is today), he's giving me Lightroom. I have the first version of Lightroom on my PC, so I've been going back and forth between computers for photo editing.
I got both of my daughters home (For the last few years one or the other has been overseas...and my Father who also has been living in another state so not here for Christmas.
They count because they were my models for Christmas.....
I got a monopod and a 50mm lens.. Love them~ As for books, I bought National Geographic's Simply Beautiful Photograph book. It has some beautiful images in it.
I do know my dad said I would really like my presents!! so..... I'll let you know :D
I also got a tripod and external hard drive from my boyfriend (and Tiffany earrings :D).
These exact models, even though I didn't get them from eBay.
