One of the things I find very challenging is taking pictures inside using natural light from windows. So let's see what you all can do. For my picture I put it on a black table in front of a window with a white sheer. I feel the sheer softens the light coming in. I am so busy I didn't have a lot of timed to play. Hope to try another one if I have time. But would love for others to try and for suggestions for my shot.
@tigerdreamer Well guess I wasn't specific enough, sorry. But I took a class on using natural light a few years ago and learned a lot but have forgotten a lot too. But as you can play with the lights that we have been learning to do, you can play with natural light. If you set something near a window and then photograph it a varying lengths from the window you can see the results of the change of light on your subject. Also if you have multiply light sources in a room you can move the object around to see the results. I used a reflective object to determine how my various light sources hit my subject.
If you discover how these light sources affect your subject you can use them much like the lights we use in our other shots. I started with a photo in front of the window. I want to try one next in another room in a corner. So I can learn to harness the natural light in my house.
Thanks so much for the reminder of the wonderful lighting that can be utilised through a window. I had a play around with a Teddy today to get some soft natural light on one side to match in with light in this texture.
