The summer is slipping by quickly and it will soon be time for the kids to be back in school. It would be a shame if another year went by without getting to know the 365 members who live close by (or relatively close by in a province as large as Ontario!)
I meant to do this earlier but time has just flown by until I realized that it is middle of July and I have yet to set up anything.
So, I am extending an open invitation to any 365 member who lives in Ontario or West Quebec to get together with others members for a day (weekend) of fun and photos on the last Saturday of August, 27th, 2021.
I live just east of Alexandria which is one hour south and east of Ottawa, 45 minutes west of Montreal and about half hour east of Cornwall. The address is 21692 Concession Road 10, Glen Robertson ... which is the gravel road one mile south of the paved County Road 10 which runs between Alexandria and Glen Robertson. I know ... why they did that is totally unbelievable!
The actual get together will be Saturday but I am certain that those of you traveling a great distance will want to spend the night and perhaps take in some sights on Sunday as well.
Please forgive me if I have missed anyone when I tagged those members that I know who live in the area. Pass on the invitation to anyone I may have missed, or let me know of those I missed so I can be sure to include them.

It's the Covid restrictions on entering Canada that really frustrates me. There are quite a few members close in the North East part of the States that could easily be here in just a few hours but not allowed to cross the border.
@farmreporter Fully vaccinated Americans are allowed into Canada for discretionary travel, without quarantine, as of Aug 9th. So you could ask American friends too!
I would really love to, but due to health reasons I can't travel anymore. right now I'm waiting for a CT Scan and then the results.

hi there... this sounds like such fun! i will attend if i can, but please don't count on it... work is insane plus i have to get two boys off to university (both are leaving the city and going into residence in their first year - and trying to get lists from them of things they will need is like pulling teeth 😖 )

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday, Aug. 28th … so sorry that I got the dates wrong last time!
I have made arrangements for some pretty neat photo opportunities. We will be at the St. Raphael’s Ruins at 1 pm for a photo shoot with a piper. We should be able to get some pretty dramatic shots the ruins as a backdrop.
That should take less than an hour. I thought that we could head to Alexandria afterwards. I am trying to get something to do there. I am hoping that we can stop at the glass blowing / art gallery. We should be able to get some neat shots there.
We would then head over to Stonehouse Vineyards to grab some classic photos of the grapes hanging on the vines as well as do a tour, try out some of their wines, and grab a bite to eat. This is a lovely spot with gorgeous views.
This is the plan but we are most flexible if this is not good for everyone.
Vikki, I am going to be in Ottawa on Friday so I could pick you up there on any of the trains you decide to come on Friday. I have two spare bedrooms as well as a guest bathroom so feel free to stay with me if you would like. And – Northy - please consider staying with me as well if you are able to come.
And, Vikki / northy – I thought we could head to Ottawa on Sunday to do some sight-seeing and photography. Adi would have a ton of ideas of great places to go since she lives there! You could catch the train home from there, Vikki.

Head west on 20 to Rivier Beaudette exit (exit 2).
Head north on 325 through Rivier Beaudette, to the 4-way stop at St. Telesphore.
Continue north past the small country school on the corner, over the tracks, and then take your next left (Chemin du Petit-Saint-Patrice).
Go to end of road … You are almost there! Turn right. Go over bridge at Dalhousie Mills – there is a beautiful stone house on the right as you go over the bridge. You are now in Ontario. Continue on up the hill around the curve, past the paved road (Concession 9 / County Road 25) up the hill some more to the next cross road which is on a curve. This is my road and it is gravel. Turn left. My address is 21692 and we are on the south side of the road (left side) We have a long laneway with an older barn, big red garage, solar panel in the field and a green steel mailbox at the road.
Northy – if you are coming and if you are driving I can give you directions from Lancaster.
Adi – do you need directions from Alexandria?

hey there... sorry for taking so long to get back to you... this sounds like so much fun! i'd love to come, but am going to have to give it a pass this time... things are insane at work and i often spend weekends trying to catch up... plus my boys are moving away to uni and there seems to be a fair bit of last minute stuff to sort out... i'm sooooo sorry to miss the outing and am looking forward to all the pictures!
