Some of you may have followed New Zealander Maureen @maureenpp
She was a very regular poster here , her wildlife shots of birds were especiallly great and she travelled around the country a fair bit to capture nature images. . When i heard of the tragedy of a nature photography group involved in a capsize off the Kaikoura Coast I had a funny feeling and kept checking her project . Today the fifth fatality was named as Maureen Pierre and I am pretty sure thats her.
This is so sad to hear. The boat capsizing was completely tragic and hearing Maureen was a victim makes it feel very personal. She was a great supporter of my project and I will miss seeing her lovely photos. xxx
Oh no, I hadn’t heard that Maureen was one of the fatalities. Four of the were members of PSNZ, and two were in a bird group I follow. Never crossed my mind that there would be 365 er among them. Such a tragedy. My thoughts go to all the families involved
Although I didn't know or follow her it still feels like a personal loss because she was one of us. Thanks for letting us know kali. May she rest in piece and may her family and friends receive the comfort and prayers they need
So very sad.. I followed Maureen project and she was a wonderful nature photographer. We had a few moments silence for the victims at our Club night on Monday night.. @dide this makes it more personal now.
Even though I did not follow her, I am saddened to hear of her death. To all those who followed her, were friends with her and to her family, I offer my sincerest condolences!
