I have just posted a composite photo comparing two different file formats,
As I have bemoaned elsewhere the Exposure X7 photo App does not support the Fujifilm X-T5 so RAF files cannot be processed using this App (I have twice asked the developers to support the X-T5 but up until now they have not seen fit to do so (if there are any other Fuji X-T5/Exposure X7 App (or just the latter) users out there it would be lovely if you could contact them and asked them to do so). Other older Fujifilm cameras are supported including the X-T2 and X70 both of which I own. The App, however, will convert RAF files to DNG format and then they can be processed, so I conducted a very unscientific experiment to compare JPG and DNG format photos using the X-T5 and the aforementioned App. Here are the results, the first is the X70 RAF and the second the X-T5 DNG:
To my eye there is not that much difference although I do prefer the latter X-T5 version which I suppose is not really a surprise as the X-T5 is a much more advanced camera of the two especially in sensor size.
I would appreciate any comments especially on which version is preferred.
It’s difficult to see much of a difference but I feel that the bottom one has less grey showing under the thistle so I am drawn to that one. (I think).
It is definitely hard to see a huge difference between the two but there are some minor ones which show up after really studying them. In the end I think I like the bottom version better for the brighter, richer colors and the darker background. You might want to explore other subject matter as well. Neither version offers you much detail in the white "fluffy" area of the flower and to me, that should be more visible. mho
