Im hitting my head against a brick wall and its hurting so i thought id ask my 365 friends if they know the reason ?
why when i load my photos that i loose most of the information of the photo ??
Is it because after i edit my photos and go to save it I save it for the web ?? Because i dont do layers ( as i have no idea how too ) . I just tweet the colors and crop etc ... nothing too extreme !!!!
So was wondering if anyone had any ideas to why and how i can stop my details from going missing ????
ummm that's a new one for me to Brenda mine seem to go on ok , sorry,
but I do get blank screen every time i load an image up & i have to refresh to see anything on the 365 site .. which is unusual but i don't lose any details
It could be because you're saving as a gif. I'm not sure if the gif format is capable of saving the exif/metadata to the file (which is where your additional info is saved). Try saving to jpg and see what happens.
I am not an expert in this, but it sounds like you are referring to the EXIF data. If you use Photoshop, there is a way to tone that down, or also eliminate it (I think). My guess is to do a search online about this related to EXIF data, and see what comes up.
First, Chris, exif data Click Here for Info is data about your picture, it is not VIEWABLE data. I hope this helps clarify EXIF data for you.
Take two, have to reinput since I lost all my response due to poor HTML coding for the link above :(
in short you have a compression issue in two ways.
1. you are most likely compressing your image when you are saving to web. Find out your settings. I use an ACTION (Photoshop macro) that I use to put my watermark and compress the image for web use and I reduce the size, the DPI to 75 or 100 can't remember. and then the compression on saving is at 60% quality. I lose a lot of info on my images but I do this knowing it. I would not want to print any of my images I post, However, I do have three files of the images I post.
a. The original
b. The PP image
c. The image for web use
You should always work in Post with a copy of the original.
2. when you upload your file to this site, this site adds the second layer of compression to your images. So everyone loses some data to their images.
I hope this helps and if you need further assistance I will be glad to help where I can, as I am sure others will help too.
This kind of thing sometimes happens to be when I try to comment on someone's photo. For example, I'll post:
"Wow, I really like this! Great job, the colors are superb!"
And it will only say,
"Wow, I really like this!"
:\ But I've never had that issue with the captions!
thanx everyone , i will have a go at what jeff is suggesting and see what happens .
Lisa not all my shots are saved as GIF others that are jpg are not showing the same.
Ah, right. I'd just looked at the most recent ones, which are all gifs, and assumed. That'll teach me. What are you using to process/convert your images? I'm assuming PhotoShop but we know where assumption got me last time ;-)

Good luck.
