First of my kind thanks to all those who voted for my picture, I am so surprised to have won, I really didn’t expect too.
I have chosen a modern day photographer for the challenge this time and the artist I have chosen is Kathleen Clemons. Kathleen is most known for her beautiful fine art painterly flower pictures. Her flower pictures tend to focus on curve, shape and form. She achieves this by using selective focus and a shallow depth of field. She will often add textures to her pictures too.
Below is a link to Kathleen’s webpage. It gives a little write up about her and if you look at the top on the right hand side and click on galleries you will find lots of examples of her work
Here is another link to some more of her work where she explains how she uses ICM to create painterly images, well worth scrolling all the way down to the bottom.
the links will work from here for people, however if you really want to know, you can edit your post and click the blue words below 'how can i format my post?'
one of the options is for urls, copy the whole line and paste it in your message and then replace the letters "URL" with your link. you can replace the word link with anything you like.
@stephanies Kali @kali66 is right, remove the dash. If that doesn't work, check out the very bottom of where people post and there is a statement "How can I format my reply?" Use the href command string with the URL the actual link and use the same for the link name so it appears as well.
@stephanies Looks like a fab artist to try and emulate. Please can I just clarify something. The instructions say the images have to be taken or processed within the timeframe so does that mean I can use photos that have been taken in the past but I just have to process them within the specified dates, or do I have to take and process the image in the timeframe? Thanks for your help.
@nickspicsnz hi Nick, Stephanie has just cut and posted from a past challenge, and it was I that introduced the or there, i think for the artist challenge it should be ok to process an older photo with the current artist in mind, especially as in this case you might want to add a texture layer for example, i thought it might increase participation, but up to the host what they pick in the final
@stephanies When I hover over the links with my mouse they are all pointing to the same location which is the link to the challenge. Adjust the link pointer to the actual link you want folks to click and jump to since right now they click on the text and they come right back to the artist challenge page. Adjust the href= to be the target URL. @kali66
Hi Helen, thank you for your kind words about my pictures, Kathleen's work is so amazing isn't it. This is an interesting take and quite a novel idea to do just one grass like this, well done. @helenhall
That is very lovely @sandbox365 thanks so much for sharing. :) I looked at your guide too, wow you did this in 10 mins? I did a write up on my picture today as well, but it took me a good deal longer.
