After searching quite diligently for a list of the previous artists featured on our artist challenge I finally came to the realization that there probably isn’t one! So I was left to relying on my not-so-trustworthy memory in attempting to select an artist we’ve never done. AND since we’ve done a lot of painters lately, I thought it was time to feature a photographer as well. Sooooo… after further research viewing the works of contemporary and earlier photographers (and not really being drawn to any of them in particular!) I finally landed on choosing a photographer who has influenced the way I take pictures- Freeman Patterson. He captures a wide variety of photographs ranging from natural to abstract so I think you’ll enjoying emulating his work. Patterson likes to emphasize the practice of taking time to truly look at your surroundings before clicking the shutter. Following that simple, but not as easy as it sounds, process has really developed my photographic vision. Try it out while you attempt his style this time around. Here is a link to his website and another to an interview with him to get a little more background on his insight. You can also find many examples of his work on Pinterest if you like poking around that website.

Patterson has also authored numerous books on photography- Photography and the Art of Seeing being one of my personal favorites.
The artist challenge will run from May 3, 2019 to May 24, 2019. All entries must be taken within this time frame.

@ludwigsdiana - i had the same problem but when i googled, i got the same link and it worked alright. please try that.
@olivetreeann - is this the dude whose book we used a while back with Katie for a black and white challenge?
@annied - thanks ms. annie but i don't want to take all credits as Mike Gifford compiled that list and i just happen to be updating it when i noticed it wasn't being updated.
@olivetreeann Must the photos be taken within the time frame? You chose a great photographer, it should be interesting to see what everyone comes up with ;-)
So sorry if you are already on this little chore, but I thought I would remind you to set up the voting for this challenge.
You certainly will have a tough time choosing - there were lots of great submissions!
