Vincent there was recently discussion about this particular challenge and it was decided that it be open to all minimalist entries, with an optional theme chosen by the winner so that people have a focus if they prefer. Get back to me or wendy @farmreporter if you want some more info before you post up the next challenge, it will need a new tag.
@vincent24 i cannot seem to find the thread i started about making changes to the minimalism challenge by searching, but as i said above it is considered better to have a minimalism challenge where any minimalist photo can be entered, but also have a theme chosen by the host as an optional focus for those who want it.
