I am a big fan of monochrome and I did post a monochrome version of this which got a couple of nice comments, this colour version didn't get any but I like it a lot! It s the variety of subtle colours that attract me most.
I've finally started using manual mode and taking the time to change settings as I take a range of photos and then sit and compare the results with the metadata. I think some of the principals are actually starting to make sense hooray!
This was taken on manual in extremely poor light and I am happy with it :)
I really liked this the more I got to know it. The subject matter fascinates me, and I used a Lightroom template ("Aged Photo") as a basis for the editing. These two lighthouses are slightly unusual in that they were aligned to provide navigational help to shipping entering the River Wyre estuary, not just a warning (as in "Here be rocks!"). The distant lighthouse you see here is actually in the middle of the town!
I love the Milky Way and am glad it is showing itself early enough these days that I can stay awake for it! I also like to find interesting compositions and foreground and I thought this worked well

I think my action shots are improving
Happy with this. Perfectly reflects my afternoon. Think I got the framing right.
