** Composite Challenge 41 - give it a go! **

November 15th, 2021
Many thanks to Chris ( @cdcook48 ) for hosting the last Composite Challenge. Well done to all the participants, and especially to the finalists for voting – I’m honoured to win against some great composites. And a big thank you, also, to everyone who voted. What a great, supportive community we belong to!

It’s quite a while since I won a challenge so fingers crossed I get this next round right. There will be no theme again this time so please let your imaginations run riot and your creative juices flow. However, if you’d like a jumping off point for inspiration may I suggest “Tree(s)”.

“Compositing is the combining of visual elements from separate sources into single images, often to create the illusion that all those elements are part of the same scene." (Wikipedia)

I encourage those who have never tried compositing to give it a go. It can be as simple or as complicated as you’d like to make it – it’s your creation. Compositing can be fun to while away some time on a rainy day when we can’t get out with our cameras.

There are a great many free Photoshop tutorials online (from beginner to expert). Here is a good one from Phlearn: https://youtu.be/fOgtJH4aGFo

If you happen to use On1: https://youtu.be/a8kh7a3kbUs

Here are a couple of other sites that might be helpful:

There are many more apps out there and you may already have a favourite.

For the Composite Challenge here on 365 you must use at least one picture that is completely yours but you can blend in other images, such as stock images, stickers or transparent gifs if you so choose.

*Please keep in mind that should you use an image that is not yours, it should be licensed as free to use for any purpose.

You are very welcome to enter as many times as you wish but only one entry from any contestant may be chosen as a finalist.

The challenge details:
Start date: Backdated to Monday 8 November (when the last challenge ended)
End date: Midnight, Sunday 12 December in your respective time zones
Tag: composite41

See entries here: https://365project.org/tags/composite41 I’m really looking forward to seeing what you all create.

Most of all just have fun, and perhaps you’ll learn something new. 😊
