A New Artist Challenge - Daniel Dencescu

November 8th, 2025
“Build a large visual library.” Is Howard Schatz’s excellent recommendation for photographers at any stage of their journey. So, the 365.org tradition of the ‘ Artist Challenge ’which gives us an opportunity to learn about different photographers as well as other artists who use various media.
This can be a beneficial tool for us. I have been influenced by Cole Thompson recently and was it was such an honor to have my picture chosen in the most recent challenge.

I have chosen to continue on the Romanian photographer Daniel Dencescu for next Artist Challenge.
Mr. Dencescu is an artist, born (19th July 1985) and raised in Romania, living now in Frankfurt, Germany. As a child, he wanted to become a painter and I began to study painting by his own, having a lot of art books at home from my parents. His passion for fine art photography started in 2008.
In his images he does try to photograph the silence, being interested in the poetry of the ordinary, always searching for expression in the commonly overlooked scenes that surround us. He enjoys photographing in ''bad weather'', when the landscape is covered with snow, fog and mist or simply under an endless grey sky.
His photography is based on a minimalist approach using negative space which aims to reduce distraction by eliminating objects that are outside the main subject.
His works have been published in various photography magazines and have won many international awards, most prominently International Photography Awards, Fine Art Photography Awards, Minimalist Photography Awards and Black & White Spider Awards.
Here are few links which showcase his work:
