Hello and welcome to your next 'People' challenge #45. Thanks John for hosting the previous one and for the lovely voting!.
This month's People theme has a focus on 'Hands'
Taking photos of people that doesn't show their faces can be a powerful way to tell a story, that focuses on the life of those hands or the activity they are engaged in.
I've heard it said that hands are second only to eyes as mirrors to the soul. They tell a story of life.
One of my favourite photo's of my mum is a black and white photograph of her hands which I took some years before she died and I am forever grateful I did that.
For your inspiration a beautiful photo blog from my mentor Valérie Jardin
I don't know if I'll manage to get any, but I'll keep it in mind and I look forward to seeing what everyone else posts!
This one can't count for me because it's old, but it's my favourite of my "hands" photos, I think (mostly for sentimental reasons). We realised on our honeymoon that our wedding photographer didn't take a picture of our hands/rings together, so I took this one with the little point-and-shoot digicam we had with us at the time.
thanks Wendy as always no rest for you! another new challenge x
