A big thank you to all who entered the Landscape 5 challenge. The entries covered a wide geographic spectrum and were great fun to spend time looking at. With over 50 entries, I first ended up with a short-list of 26! Far far too many and all worthy of inclusion, so paring that down to 6 was not easy. However here are the finalists, in order of entering:
**Please note voting will be open from now until Sunday night, 22nd July at midnight in your time zone.**
Good morning, Graham
I hate to pester you once again when you thought your job with Landscape 5 was done!
There was a discussion on the July 20th Weekly SH*T List about what to do when the winner of a challenge does not get the next round going. It was decided that the honour would go to the runner up.
I tabulated the votes and iqscotland was runner up by just a few votes. It really was a close vote! I did tag him but he posts very intermittently so hopefully he can do this.
We will give him a week and see what happens. We may need to contact the third place person.
I am putting the tabulated votes here in case we need to contact the third place winner. I would hate to see this wonderful challenge fall off the radar!
@farmreporter Wendy, thank you. I wasn't aware of the 2nd place ruling, so I was considering setting another contest myself. However as you have followed the correct procedure, I am happy to do the 'follow up' and contact the 3rd place image author if necessary, perhaps after one week (6/8/18).
Thank you, Graham
Everyone who commented agreed that the opportunity to host the challenge should go to the runner up. This just happened recently because a member noticed that the abstract challenge also was missed and she started the discussion.
I am happy to report that iqscotland has agreed to host the challenge!
Please accept my sincerest apologies for not being around to host Landscape challenge 6 but I have had a bit of a family emergency. I really do appreciate everyone who voted for my picture and thank everyone who got involved to make sure the challenge continued on. @farmreporter@ellida@iqscotland
@gazmadhat
Not a problem, Gaz! I am just so happy that you are back!
I really like your work and was hoping you would be back.
365 is a laid back project, not meant to have any stress about it. We all do what we can and when we can to support and encourage one another along the way!
@gazmadhat Gaz, I'm happy to hand this back over to you,it still has ten days to run. If you are still pressed for time maybe you'd like to pick the finalists, that's really your prize for winning, and I could set up the vote for you.Give it think and let me know.If you're busy and miss this I'll just carry on. Alistair
@iqscotland Thanks for the offer Alistair but I am still dealing with things here at the moment. Please continue on and complete the challenge for this week if you would. I really appreciate you stepping in. =)
Some conversations took place after the event, which raised the title to currency, which seems to have caused some confusion. Landscape-6 is open for entries however - please join in :-)
