Goodness, there were a lot of entries! First, let me explain my selection process. I had to eliminate a lot of entries to get down to five or six. There were some excellent photos that didn't tell a story. They just had a six-word description. Sorry. Those don't make the cut. Then, there were some excellent stories, but the photography didn't meet the high bar that I had to set for so many entries.
Also, there were a few very prolific photographers with many entries. I cut those down to at most, one.
That still left a large batch to choose from. The third hurdle was just my opinion.
Now, on to the voting. I encourage you to use ranked-choice voting. Vote for several entries--even all of them--in the order of your preference. Put your favorite first.
If you like, you can vote for just one, but ranked-choice voting is a fairer measure of the voters' preference when there are many choices. It also helps if you have a hard time picking just one.
