Tough call, but I think this is my favorite for January. I think itโs good, technically, and (hopefully) captures the feeling I had when I took it. Over time, I've taken several photos from this (general) spot, different seasons / times of day, color/Black and white, different focal lengths... but this is the first one that really works for me.
I have only just got back into taking photos regularly (but still not on a daily basis) so was pleased how this turned out on a dreary day when I really did not want to go out - let alone bring my camera
I chose this collage of pictures from the Chinese New Year parade in Vancouver because it was such a happy, colourful event and so much fun to shoot. I even got a snap of our PM. (Although I entered a better one of him in the People in a Crowd challenge.)
I was lax in January but here is one I was especially happy with. I chose this one as I had to go to a lot of post processing to remove branches to make this look more presentable.
It makes me sad to share this as it is the last photograph I took of our darling Percy. He has left a big hole in our hearts
This one was second:
What can I say, it was a squirrely month.

Power lines along a nearby walking trail - I tried and failed at capturing a shot I liked last year, so this felt like a real accomplishment.
And my neighbor's cat, captured through our fence.
I love this pic because I took it of my son.
