Creating Great Photo Videos

December 12th, 2009
Ever wanted to make one of those really cool looking video slideshows that make everyone go wow and stun your techie friends?

Animoto is a website with a neat little app where you upload your still photos and turn them in to the coolest looking videos with music. I've tried it out a few times and thought I'd share it with you guys.

Here's one I made earlier…(I cant embed it here but click the picture below and it will take you to the site)

Photos are of Joshua, my friends little boy, I took these photos as a present a few weeks after he was born.

Animoto have a free offering with a limit of a 30 second video which I used to make the video above. You can upgrade to get longer and higher resolution videos too.

So go and try it out it's so simple to do. Post your own videos in the comments below it'd be great to see what you come up with.

I use Animoto a lot, and I really doo mean a lot :-) I even got myself a membership for free full-length videos.
I really love how the music actually influences your slideshow, it brings it all together. Haven't been able to do this with any other application yet.

Nice vid Ross!

Ps. A tip for anyone wanting to make a long full length video: Video length is limited by the duration of your sound file. If I have many photos, I edit an mp3 and past 2 or 3 behind each other. Works fine, as long as you keep the mp3 size under 10 mb's!
