I'm (im)patiently awaiting my online purchase of a Canon f1.8 fixed 50mm lens. (I have a Canon XTi) It will be a while before I can add another, but do any of you have suggestions on what lenses to add and a suggested order of adding them for one who aspires to be a serious hobbyist?
I just got that lens, the 50mm f1.8. I like it a lot more than the lenses I got with the camera. I am also thinking about my next lens. I know I want a macro but I also want a lens that allows me to get closer to my subject. I feel like I have to step back a lot using the 50mm. I know people suggest a 100mm with macro. What is the major advantage to this lens over a 28mm f2.8 with macro?
