Huka Falls by dkbarnett

Huka Falls

Every time I visit Huka Falls I am impressed by the sheer volume and power of the water. Today was no exception. Every minute enough water goes over to fill five olympic size swimming pools - and the chasm the water shoots through isn't very wide. I took quite a few photos, but I did like this one with the small horizontal tree. It's also showing the lovely colour of the water.
I should imagine this is a very noisy place to visit with all that water pounding down. That tree is pretty amazing the way it's growing like that. Terrific shot :)

@paul10 Yes it is rather noisy and very awe inspiring.
@fbailey It is a huge volume of water.
@deborah63 It is very power, as it is a huge volume of water squeezed into a narrow chasm - very awe inspiring.
@lynnz @dawnee Thanks for your comments and favs - very appreciated.

Very cool -- it plays with my head as I wanted to turn it vertically. Love the power from the rush of water and mist it caused.

@taffy I know exactly what you mean Taffy - trees don't normally grow horizontally!! :-)
