On Tuesday I went to Milford Sound as I had agreed to pick up my son and his partner at the Divide when they finished walking the Routeburn Track. I left Queenstown at 5:30 am and reached Milford sound by about 9:30 am - missing all the tourist buses!! I had a lovely few hours there. This photo was taken on the road to Milford at a place called mirror lakes.
So stunning ... I remember stopping there .... sorry was on a tourist bus ... love the b/w really captures the tones and reflection ... very Ansel Adams .. was a little bit windy when we were there ... hope you didn't have too longer wait to get through the mountain ... when we had to stop on the way back from Milford, the driver opened the door of the bus and we nearly had an extra passenger in the shape of a Kea!! :)) fav

I saw a Kea there too - he was so funny checking out all the drivers and strutting down the road! Thanks for your lovely comments on the photo - funny - I stopped to look at the reflections, but ended up with no water - just mountains and trees!
