I think this chap was rather overcome and awed by the holiness of the River Ganges. Thousands of people come to the river everyday to wash and to worship. It is a very holy place for Hindu people. The green and red in the water is reflection from the ghats.
@deborah63 It didn't look too bad Debbie, but there were hundreds of people washing themselves, with lots of lather and soap, bullocks keeping themselves cool in the water, and not to mention the ashes from the cremated bodies! I don't think I would want to be in it!
