Tamarillo by dkbarnett

Tamarillo

I had to think of something for the theme 'dessert'. Food photography is not something I do so this was pushing me somewhat. Preparing tamarillos for my husband is something I do quite often as he loves these on ice cream or on his porridge. I put them in boiling water for 10 minutes, the skin then peels off easily - then marinate overnight with a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar. Yum!

I had to Google Tamarillos as I had no idea what they were…they sound like an acquired taste! They are very pretty, I’m guessing g they grow in your garden.

@happypat I don't have any in the garden at the moment Pat. When I was young and lived in Whangarei they grew very easily. Not quite so well here in Taranaki.
