Frenzied by dmariewms

Feeding frenzy on the Chesapeake Bay. It is mostly Double Crested Cormorants, but still quite a few Herring and Ring Billed Gulls. Others there told me that they had spotted dolphins earlier, so it was probably the dolphins that had herded the fish close to the main channel, making easy pickings for the birds. The noise was amazing - the calls and the slap of wings on water. Taken from the Seawall at Fort Monroe. In total I could see about 2200 cormorants and 500 gulls, but there were many more in the distance I really couldn't see.
