I Am Thankful For....A Homemade Gift

Today one of my students brought me a gift for Teacher Appreciation Week and it was homemade!! Yummy!! I asked her if I could take her picture with the cake she made and she was happy to do so!! :) I truly do appreciate her thoughtfulness and the cake is delicious!! :) (I wish she didn't have the glare on her glasses--I didn't realize it until I saw the picture on the computer and I don't know how to edit it out!! It just adds the brightness to her eyes!!) :)

Today I'm thankful for....

1. a homemade cake
2. gestures of appreciation
3. a catered lunch by the PTO
4. Addie made a 98 on her Biology test!!
5. Trevor seems to be enjoying football practice--he hasn't played the last couple of years because it wasn't the best experience so I'm hoping next year (his SR year) will be different
awe... that is so sweet! It sure is nice when people appreciate you. :)

Kudos to you for taking on this project. When I did mine, it was a daily one line posting on facebook for a year. I remember vividly when I realized my brain had been rerouted. Someone asked me what bothered me more than anything. I had to really think about that when before I could have come up with dozens of different things. AHA!!! It is so true we can change our way of thinking but it takes consistancy and a long period of time.

I wish others would do this too. I bet the general attitudes would be so different. If this works for positive thinking it works equally for negative thinkiing. We need to decide which way we want to live our lives.

What a sweet girl...so nice to be appreciated. Our parents set up a table of all sorts of goodies in the teacher workroom one morning this week. I ate way too many Krispy Kreme donuts that day...but by the end of the day I felt sooooo appreciated! LOL

Love the fact that this was clearly a spontaneous expression of appreciation. I'm sure that made the cake that much sweeter.
