And they had fantastic carpentry to do it!
A
I really like the mix of shapes in this, as well as the contrast between old and new :) Great shot.
A critique would be (hope you don't mind me saying this) that there is maybe a bit too much going on - it's hard to know which side to focus on

@blueace thank you Annie! I appreciate very much and substantially agree, but with 11 days of delay I resolved to accost some compromise!;-)

I agree that there is a great deal going on here but the unique thing about this chaos is that each person is in their own little world within the busy scene.

@blueace to "accept" some compromise...
@joysabin thank you. I confess I even cropped a bit, there was even more originally!

Where was this taken?
I love those kinds of floors; there is one in Pompeii I took a picture of.
I love the scene; it really reminds me of so many places I saw in Italy. The man who is blurred: I took a picture in Venice of a gondolier standing near his gondola and an ACTV officer (I don't know the right word; the guy who gives a fine if you don't have a ticket) walked through my shot and was blurry. At first, I didn't like it; but then I decided I DID like it because it added motion and life to the picture. Happy accident, in the end!

@sonorobyn Thank you for your comment. This was shot in St. John Basilica. I was doubtful about all the action taking place here, actually, but after all, that's it: so many people, so many things... I agree on the motion, I like it in pictures!

Mono treatment calms the shot. It reminds me of the 'Where's Willy' books.
