oh dear, this is sort of scary, though I'm sure it was not meant to be. I think it's the white-out in the canal, as though the water is sucking in all life. The white equivalent of a black hole in the universe.

This is wonderful Domenico, what a lovely high key! I have only been there once in 1998 and it was amazing, I loved it so. It's nice you can visit once in a while - carefully avoiding tourist season I'm sure :)
@kerosene thank you my friend. I think Venice lies in the world imaginarium. It is such a dream place... I go there every second year, in earlier spring. It's still cold and humid but silent - so silent that you can hear your steps walking the "calli" and "campielli"... unless you wear sneakers, of course! 😉
