After 4 hours pushing and pulling the press lever, emptying and filling, cleaning and washing, here's the 25 liters semi-finished alcoholic infusion. Ready to become about 50 liters of finished liquor, i.e. 100 bottles, half of which already sold... Let's the experiment begin!
phenomenal, i have a myrtle tree, its just a baby yet, only had a half dozen berries on it last year, i was wondering if i could use them for anything. , hopefully the dreaded myrtle rust recently discovered in NZ wont get it! maybe one day i could try a mini version, how is the taste?
@kali66 Cool! I'll give you my secret recipe... separately, this time! The first attempt I made was with half a kilo berries and half a liter alcohol, just for you to know. It was in 2006: form then, I continued every year increasing the quantities and perfecting the recipe.
The taste is very typical: if you eat one berry it will have an annoying effect on your tongue (I don't even know what's the word in English) but the taste is so mediterranean, a touch of bitter in a generally sweet aroma. Absolutely typical. The alcoholic infusion avoids the annoying effect and helps the flavors to open.
Now I 'm curious what this tastes like! I tried making wine once...that didn't go too well, so kudos to you and your success....making liquor is truly an art.
@kerosene That would be great; I'd save a couple of bottles for you! @caterina Thank you, Caterina! @yrhenwr Hahaha... Actually, I decided to start the legal process only when I had orders... That however will not repay the effort, but it's ok... @gardenfolk It's such a small inventory... Too easy! Thank you!
