Loved ones

Following my better two thirds from photographic distance, during a nice hike on the snow in South Tyrol. Not far from the place where Ötzi the Iceman was found https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ötzi
great composition - the Oetzi story was fascinating

Terrific perspective, leading line

Wonderful texture...I can feel that glistening soft snow...magically relieved of its footprints.

I love the leading lines leading to your loved ones! I also really like those types of fences, gives a lot of character (We've got a lot of those fences here, as I'm surrounded by a lot of Civil War history and battle sites). I also like the look of old film here.

great leading lines and silhouettes of your girls. It' interesting as someone else mentioned that there are no footprints on the icy snow.

Moody shot. I like the zig zagging lines of the fence and how it leads off to the right. Great composition.

@jenp Thank you, Jennifer! May I ask you where are you based?
@caterina Thanks, Caterina. It was rather hardened...
@epcello Thank you very much, Erika!

@domenicododaro
Bingo! I wondered if you'd pick up the gauntlet (challenge) re the footprints ;-)
February 10th, 2019
@domenicododaro - I live in the U.S. in West Virginia. I grew up In Maryland and I'm only a mile from MD. About an hour outside of Washington DC and Baltimore. We've got Antietam Battlefield, Gettysburg, Jarpers Ferry and quite a few other well known battlefields around. It's pretty neat to go photograph some of these places.

such a great composition. definitely worth lingering at the back for.

wonderful expanse of white. love that your loved ones are leading us into the image :)

The crooked and weathered fence really make for such a great natural framing. Perfect in B&W too.

I really like the rickety fencing and the walking away of your family that makes me imagine your wanting to catch up . . .
