Line up

At the railway station of Meran, South Tyrol, a line-up of small dusty oldtimers.
A scene from another era.
Surely they can be used - classic cars!

These are collectors' cars - are they or, more likely, were they hire cars!

Very much like the old classic cars next to the what appears to be a non-used set of tracks.

This looks like a movie scene from one of the classics. Well composed!

it's like a hive...is the mother inside guarding the nest?

Fiat Auto or Smart cars?

What an interesting lineup to spot, and nicely captured, as always!

They are so cute!

@maggiemae hope they are going to be refurbished and delivered to loving collectors!
@vignouse It seems there’s a guy in Meran trading these. They’re from the early 60’s to the 70’s...
@joysabin curiously enough, the tracks are in regular use: the weeds are very tenacious! Thanks
@taffy thank you! If it weren’t for the dust...
@graemestevens luckily they don’t sting!
@mikegifford FIAT 600s and 550s! Good eye!
@jyokota thank you so much!
@dide thank you, Dianne! Also for the follow!

Hmmm, this has a 1930’s dust bowl feel to it. Except of course no one had a car and if they did it wasn’t a nice car. A marvelous image!

Great b&w image...My eye sees all of the textures and lines surrounding the cars making for a unique shot.

@louannwarren I admit I had to google “Dust Bowl”, I didn’t know it was the name for the sand storms of the 30s. What a story. Thank you so much, especially considering that part of the photo documentation of the period was by Dorothea Lange!
@seattlite Thank you very much for noticing! The buildings behind the cars were very interesting, indeed!

@domenicododaro a friend of mine in Fort Worth posted this photo on her Facebook page from the other end of the scene, and in color. I could not get over the incredible coincidence! Her mother’s family is from South Tyrol. This world is so small now.

Makes me wonder what went in through that door in the gap and if there are other little cars through there........

@louannwarren Indeed, the world is such a tiny ball! Thanks for sharing!
@casablanca Actually there are some, on the other side of the building!
@overalvandaan I’d love to own one!
@cjphoto Thanks a lot!
@yaorenliu Thank you so much!
@kwind Thanks, and yes, it is rather weird to see all of them together!
