2016.02.02 Tuesday: The weather today was so warm that we matched the record high for this day (i.e., 73 degrees F., which happened back in 1990); it was also very windy with a good bit of rain on-and-off throughout the day. We had storm warnings in the evening, but thankfully none of the expected storms materialized in my area.
During a lull today I went outdoors to enjoy the warmth and walk around my yard. In the middle of my walk, I passed by one of our maple trees and noticed these two beautiful hyacinths blooming underneath ...I had planted them there last year and forgotten them; they were a welcome sight!
I know I can smell them from here!!! Wish we had smell-a-vision on here! My face would be on my screen all the time!! Such pretty colors and hope for a beautiful Spring!! Our weather made 74 today and windy also!! I'm up super late right now as we are expecting some really bad weather in a couple hours. Tornado watch right now but may have a few around and near here!! Buttoning down the hatches!! FAV!
Beautiful capture of these hyacinths! I like the fallen leaves you included. I can imagine these determined plants pushing up through the leaves to reveal their colorful, fragrant beauty. I'm glad you spotted this touch of Spring and shared it with us. I can almost smell them!
@cashew Kathy, I hope that you stayed safe! We had all sorts of storm warnings and grim possibilities in our forecast (a tornado watch; straight-line winds...), and it ended up that all we got was some heavy rain! I had prayed that our neighborhood would stay peaceful, and it did!
@dsp2 So far, so good!! We've had some hellasious (really strong) thunder and lightening, but no straight line winds or tornadoes so far!! Keeping our fingers crossed, plus we have flash flood warnings out!! Crossing my toes too!!! LOL Glad you were ok in all of this!!
