2016.02.19. Friday: Today was my youngest son's birthday. In this photo he is grudgingly posing for the obligatory birthday photo while waiting for his celebratory meal to begin.
Several weeks ago -- while we were in the middle of a snowstorm! -- Joshua had remarked that he wanted grilled steak and potatoes for supper on his birthday. At that time we had no idea what the weather would be like on this day, but my middle son determined that we would grill steaks for Joshua even if we had to stand outdoors in a snowstorm holding an umbrella over the grill!
We were extremely blessed, however: The weather today turned out to be very warm for this time of year, and sunny. We were able to have all of Joshua's desired foods: grilled steak, grilled potatoes, and a wonderful salad with mixed vegetables.
It was such nice weather that my oldest son and I worked outdoors around our yard in the afternoon, admiring the ever-expanding blooms on our blueberry bushes and the deepening green of the foliage on our hellebore.
This is a collage to remind me of what a wonderful, blessed day we all had.
