Flames of Freedom

2018.03.16 Friday: My son and I walked around downtown today ...I had thought that we would attend an annual event that we always go to, but when we got downtown I found that we were a month too early! Somehow I had gotten the dates mixed up; we will have to go back in April.

As we were walking I noticed these flames from the monument to the Declaration of Independence, an inscription of which is found on the monument's base. I enjoyed pausing for a few moments to look upward and watch the flames rising into the sky.
An interesting and unusual capture.

What a neat find! You’ll have two wonderful days with your son ... this one and the one you’ll have when you go back in April ... lucky you!

I like that relative simplicity can represent something immensely profound
