Nice flower, shame about the name.

Scabious! I ask you - who gave such a pretty flower such an ugly-sounding name?
Lester and I went to the Forest Centre & Millennium Country Park near Bedford today. We had a lovely walk there. There were lots of interesting plants and lots of elusive dragonflies and we really enjoyed it. My only adverse criticism is that there weren't enough clear views of the lake.

A beautiful close shot. A pretty colour too. Some names are off putting and there are so many pretty flowers that we class as weeds. We sometimes walk along the River Ouse. Another good walk.
