Ups on the Downs

(Works better on magnified view)
Lester walked from Dunstable to Wilstone today. I took him to the outskirts of Dunstable and then went to the Downs. I had a hot chocolate (extremely good and very chocolatey - yumm!) and sat and watched adults and children walking, cycling, and flying kites and playing with bubbles.
A lovely composition. The downs are a great place to visit. Always something going on. Have you got a sledge for the winter shots?

What a carefree photo! I love the pops of color in the kids' clothing against the more muted background.

You've captured the view so well! It's difficult to get this without flattening it. Great shot of happy children.

Did you enhance the colour of the children?
August 20th, 2011
@bigsusan55 I de-saturated the background and dropped the contrast and added just a tiny bit of extra colour to the figures and the bubbles. I also altered the colour of the clothes of the girl in the background, 3rd from left. Her tracksuit was a very invasive bright jade. I added a bit more orange to the bubble wand to balance the red in the kite which was in danger of stealing the show.

Thought you must have done something as the children popped out very well. Don't know how to desaturate the background in Serif photoplus.

@bigsusan55 Can you saturate? In the basic stuff on Picasa, our photo storage, there's a Saturate slide. If you move the button to the right it adds colour, if you move it to the left, it drains the colour out.
