This is Pinot, one of next door's cats, drinking out of the half barrel in our garden where my waterlily lives. Most of the cats who visit us (as ours did when we had them) drink out of it. It was just a question of time before I managed to catch one of them at it. The look of the shot is a bit odd because I had to take it from indoors, through glass.
I wonder why pet care manuals are so adamant about providing clean, fresh water for cats and dogs? They really go for the icky stuff even when the nice, clean water's freely available!

Lovely capture. So true! Since when does a cat drink from its water bowl?! Ours would rather lap from a muddy puddle than clean fresh water from their bowl! Flavour, perhaps? lol
@jenrobcarr It's not happened yet. Our last cat, a little queen, used to walk round on the rim of the barrel and stand on it to drink!
