A very big thank you to *everyone* who looks at my shots, and for all the kind comments you post. I am very appreciative of the time and trouble you take to do so.
Lester and I went to the charming village of Bampton in the Cotswolds (and also in the county of Oxforshire) today. Lester had fixed a melodeon for someone living in the village, so it seemed like a good idea to make returning it an excuse for an outing.
Bampton's parish church, the church of St.Mary the Virgin is really pretty. I'd liked to have got a shot of a lot more of the building but couldn't get a decent angle on it without including cars, signposts and the like. Shame, because it is a lovely building. It's also the church that featured in an episode of the UK TV series, Downton Abbey, the one when somebody got married. I don't know the details, I don't watch it. As far as I can make out there are only - edit 1900 BST- 4 of us in the UK who don't. Any more ? ;-)
Edit. 6th May.Ah, that's now 7 UK residents + 1 chum from Down Under who didn't see it. :-)

Thank you, everyone. :-) @milaniet Thank you, Milanie :-) It's part of the largest window of the church. The whole window's shaped like a pointed arch and then these are stone -bracers, I guess - within the frame of the window.
@sophiaz Thank you Sophia. :-) I don't think the architecture is Gothic. If I remember rightly, Gothic windows are round at the top. The ones in the church all come to a point.

This is lovely and unusual. This is the last of your shots that I have looked at since I have been back. All of your shots are always interesting or attractive in different ways and your commentary always welcome. I also always love your series - eg henrietta etc. Everyone of these recent shots has been really special in one way or another.
Thank you to you for your kind comment too.
