Lester, Gareth and I went out for a few hours on Monday and went for a train ride on the Leighton Buzzard narrow gauge railway. I didn't get any interesting shots there but spotted this view on the way home. It doesn't happen very often but on this occasion there was somewhere to stop the car.
I took this from the bridge over the Grand Union Canal at Slapton.
Btw, at the end of the railway trip, we were give hot, non-alcoholic punch made with ginger beer and cranberry juice. It was gooood!

@jtookey150 Hi, Jean! I thought you'd be busy but I was beginning to get a bit worried. Hope all's well.
Thank you. All the very best for 2013 to you and yours.
@jenrobcarr Thanks, Jennifer. Slapton's a small village nearish to Leighton Buzzard. This is nearby really - it just uses Slapton as an address.
Hope you have a great 2013
Simply perfect wintry shot. Fav. for me. Love the composition, the way you've caught the gentle bend of the canal, the sheep grazing, the bare trees, the tow path, and the sheen on the water. I do believe there's a bridge in the hazy background, too.
Beautiful country scene - love the sheep and the boats - you angled this one to really capture that calm feeling. Happy New Year from Arkansas and thanks for teaching me so much about England this past year.
This is AMAZING, Alison! It looks like an old painting, but seemingly, without post processing effects. Or if you did process, it is very subtle. This is gorgeous! The sheep, the boat..the canal. Just gorgeous and a fav!
@espyetta It was taken as a RAW shot and processed in the converter (darkroom?) , then I cloned a little distracting highlight out of the water and cropped.
@dulciknit I don't shot RAW so that part is not something I totally understand...I intend this year, to get PS and Lightroom, so then I guess I might try the RAW thing....Thanks for the info!
I love the beautiful serene scene, Alison. The grazing sheep really add to the interest. A fav for me! I just read your note above and cannot understand RAW processing. I need to look into more advance photo procedures but never seem to have the time. I'm not very techy + just about everything I do in life, I stick to the basics. I really need to change!
Thank you. All the very best for 2013 to you and yours.
Hope you have a great 2013
