Local colour

It's probably another of those better on large view efforts if you have a moment to take a look. Thank you.

This is a little street in the centre of High Wycombe. It's a favourite of mine because it always looks fun and colourful, even when there's no stripy-clad scaffolding.
I went to High Wycombe on Monday to buy an outfit for a wedding we're going to at the end of the week. Buying posh frocks isn't easy when you're short, dumpy, rapidly sliding towards 60 and spend 99.9% of your waking life in jeans - so I bought posh trousers. :-)

Many thanks to all who stop by, view, comment on my posts - it's really kind of you to take time out to do so and very much appreciated.
I love this! This is my favourite sort of picture. I bet most people walk along that street and don't notice that it is beautiful and attractive, or do but can't put their finger on why. Really nice.

A very busy colourful shot. The rain adds a shine to the shot.

A busy and interesting street, yes lots of colour there too. Nice to walk along an area without cars. Glad you found something to wear, its quite hard work at times!

A street with attitude! I do understand the problem of posh clothes. I had to get a personal shopper to help me days before my son's wedding - she was shocked I'd left it so late but just the thought of buying a dress put me in a spin!

Great shot! You always find such colorful, vibrant places to shoot. Definitely worth viewing large as there's so much going on!
Glad you found clothing for the wedding - I need to do the same for my daughter's wedding, but hate spending that kind of money on a dress!

Cool street shot and love the look of the shopping area. Now you need to take a selfie shot showing off your new posh attire at the time of the wedding ;-)

Such a colourful scene; Decent dresses are just so darn hard to find aren't they, trousers are so practical, very smart and above all comfy;0)

Ah ha I know that street in Wycombe, I always like how the shops spill out on to the path.

Nice capture of this street scene.

It's not just the short and dumpy that have these problems, I'm also shopping for a wedding and all the dresses are either too short, or make me look like Olive Oyl! Thanks for the 'nudge'! I did intend to come back for the new year, but unfortunately I'm 'between computers' . With the new one I'll also need to sort out some photo editing software, technology is not my strong point to put it mildly.
