Lester and I had a great day out at Whitchurch Silk Mill and Winchester on Saturday. This is part of the weaving loom at the mill. It's the warp threads (the long ones) passing through heddles. They raise and lower alternate threads so that the weft thread, carried on a shuttle, can be passed between them, creating the fabric.
The mill's a lovely little place, staffed entirely by volunteers, set in very pretty grounds.
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

Very creative and artistic. What an interesting place to visit. I once visited Paradise silk mill in Macclesfield and that was fascinating though I would say that from the point of view of workers in times gone by it must have been anything but paradise.
