A detail of Barbara Hepworth's "Wood And Strings (Fugue)" which is housed in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambrige. It's crafted from mahogany, I've played with the colour.
We spent the day in Cambridge with our daughter (who lives and works there) last Saturday and went to the museum with her. Barrie had been meaning to go for some time but hadn't got round to it - keeping the aged parents amused was the ideal incentive. :-) We all enjoyed our visit.
I think the Fitzwilliam is like a condensed version of the British Museum.
Posting this on Friday, so happy weekend everyone!
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

I really liked the Fitzwilliam when I went there years ago and it's on my list of things to see should I revisit Cambridge. I'm fond of the Ashmolean, but not so sure about it now that it's been redone.
Now that is one for me to visit. I love Hepworth. Have you been to her studio in St. Ives? Really worth a limit if you are down that way! There used to be some Hepworths in Battersea Park, London at one time. I wonder if they are still there.
Great shot by the way... I like that you only captured a snipet of the whole piece. It makes me want to see the whole piece and pulls you in.
Love the tonality in the red.
Well done.
Have a good weekend too :)
