When it first appeared on my friends feed I thought giraffe. I still do a bit as it is the portrait framing , beautiful light, the patterns and giraffe colours . Maybe my work coffee was a tad strong this morning !!!
@ethelperry I've enhanced it for effect but it was already painted, Ethel. It's part of the architecture in St. Albans Cathedral (properly the Abbey Church and Cathedral of St. Alban, who was the first recorded, British, Christian martyr). One of the guides there told me that, when the building was constructed, they couldn't afford to purchase different stones needed for the decoration they wanted, so they painted it on instead.
